So great to Skype with Elder Takis Christmas Day! Among other things, he said he does miss his beard and his longer hair, and he misses mountains; where he is in New Mexico it is totally flat except for some mountains he can see off in the distance in Colorado, 45 miles away. He says those mountains taunt him because he knows they're there, he wants to get to them, but he can't. He's gained 10 pounds, feels out of shape, and has been eating a ton of really spicy food that he's still adjusting to, but he's loving his mission and is doing really well. He also spoke a little Navajo for us!
